ROLL CALL Members Present: Alexander Bertolucci, Gerald “Skip” Farley, Janice Farley, Leo . Floros, Dale Henricksen, Patrick Mogge, Jean Murphy, Michaele Skowron, John Zulaski Members Absent: Sharon Anderson, Linda Hoefert, Christy Watychowicz, Ex-officio Members Present: Mayor Arlene A. Juracek and Marianthi Thanopoulos Ex-officio Members Absent: none Additional Village staff members present: Sean Dorsey, Mount Prospect Public Works Director; Jim Miller, MPFire Department III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES SkipFarleymoved. Skowron seconded. Motion passed. IV. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD None V. OLD BUSINESS A. Report: Website/online store/scavenger hunt update –Lindsay Rice Store up and running. Murphy is taking photos of commercial and public spacesfor a Website Scavenger Hunt.The plan is to display one/twoa weekon website for identification. The Scavenger Hunt reward is bragging rights. B.Report: Sponsorships update –Skip Farley, Leo Floros, Christy Watychowicz Suggestion made that commission individuals dropoff sponsorship forms with businessesthey know.Sponsorship group is close to 50% budget goalfor income. C.Report: Update on Centennial logo on water tower –Sean Dorsey It is progressing. D.Report: Fire hydrant painting update –Christy Watychowicz Press release was sent in mid-June.Deadline is July 15.100 were estimatedfor the budget;there are applicants for 50 YTD. E.Report: Chamber book insert –Jean Murphy, Lindsay Rice Chamber book insertcopy & photosaredue Aug 23, 2016to the Daily Herald. 12 page pull out from middle of Chamber bookwill be Anniversary material. There wlll be a single ad on the back. Narrative will be ad free. Title photo is pre 1916 and is the MP Creamery Co. Daily Herald will design insert with Murphy’s copy and photos. Rice’s interns will do research for Murphy’s narrative. Inserts will be distributed to eachsingle family home. There will be extra copies at Library, etc. 3:15 pm Mogge entered F.Report: Time capsule unearthing plan –Mayor Arlene Juracek Invitations have been sent to Centennial members, Village Board, Library Board, th current state, federal, and local elected officials. Tent for display of 75anniversary artifactswill be erected. No bleachers. Murphy will obtain signs for sponsors. There is no process to add sponsors toexisting banner. Additional banners will be added as needed. Details: need emcee,unearth capsule, SkipFarley’sletterread, introductions, other speeches, will not opencapsulethat day, capsule will be opened under archival conditions w/Rice. MP Library asked if it could be part of display. Vault will stored at Public Works. Murphy will put MP Library Director Marilyn Gentherin touch w/Dorsey to discuss actual opening. G.Report: Historic homes –Torrens searches –Jean Murphy Murphy has list of qualified homes. Murphy is also gathering addresses of other possible addresses. Murphy will teach Ann Shaughnessyof MPLibrary on process of qualifying. H.Report: Business window clings and vehicle sticker update –Jean Murphy Size of window clings isbeing determined. Designer will design both clings and vehicle sticker. I.Report: Outreach to Interfaith Council –letter about windows and histories – Jean Murphy Murphy will write a letter to churches to request narrative of window history to be put on website. J.Report: International event –John Zulaski, Alex Bertolucci Lyric Opera of Chicago makes soloists available for community outreach to sing arias. MPLibrary is working on idea. Listof international restaurants iscompleted and will be put on website. K.Report: Schools –Patrick Mogge and John Zulaski. Next educator meeting is August 9, 2016. Possible list of places where school items can be displayed: village, library, historical society, Randhurst Village, park districts. Curriculum is almost complete. VI. NEW BUSINESS VII. OTHER BUSINESS –member roundtable –additional ideas? Comments? A. Dorsey. Signs are ready for village entrances. Will be erected soon. B. Centennial signage. Mayor Juracek reported that Wille and Meyn families have sent their total pledges. Plaques are now at 50% of goal. Dedication will be Feb 3, 2017. Signs installed Octoberfest 2017. C. Janice Farley will send out letters to 100 year old building ownersindicating that signs will be erected in yards. D. Thanopolous –newsletter from Veterans of ForeignWars. Journal &Topics had an insert of the MP ad. Journal will repeat ad for next two weeks. E. Henricksen –would like to time hanging Randhurst banners w/village entrance signs. F. Miller will approach CERT team to install 100 year old buildingsigns. Install to take place from the beginning to mid October. Zulaski left at 4:30 pm. VIII.
