AND EQUIPMENT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $374,000

Information:
The Police Department is requesting approval to purchase eleven (11) vehicles to
replace existing fleet vehicles currently due for replacement and properly equip the
vehicles for law enforcement purposes in an amount not to exceed $374,000.

Budget Impact:
The scheduled vehicle purchase and supplemental equipment is set for an amount
not to exceed $374,000.

Recommendation:
The Police Department is seeking the approval of the Village Board to:
1. Purchase seven (7) Dodge vehicles [four (4) Dodge Chargers and three (3)
Dodge Durangos] from Thomas Dodge off of the Southwest Mayors
Cooperative Bid at a cost not to exceed $196,871.
2. Purchase three (3) Ford vehicles [one (1) Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicle,
one (1) Ford Police Interceptor Sedan, and one (1) Ford Escape SE] from
Currie Motors off of the Northwest Municipal Conference Suburban Purchasing
Cooperative Agreement at a cost not to exceed $78,744.
3. Purchase one (1) Ford Explorer XLT from Bredemann Ford off of the
Northwest Municipal Conference Suburban Purchasing Cooperative Agreement
at a cost not to exceed $32,712.
4. It is requested the bid process be waived to employ the services of Lund
Industries for the conversion and purchase of related installation equipment for
Village Board Meeting - March 1, 2016 Page 41 of 76
the aforementioned eleven (11) vehicles at a cost not to exceed $65,673.
