At the February 18, 2016 meeting at Village Hall, Rice will present how to submit an event for inclusion in the Anniversary website. Thanopoulos will make PDF copies of instructions for participants. Press release will follow. Mayor Juracek will announce update during the Mayor's report at Village board meeting. B. Report: School efforts (movable display boards available?) — John Zulaski, Patrick Mogge There will be a school meeting on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Forest View Center. Rice will check w/Zulaski as to whether she should attend. Teacher curriculum will be available by early summer 2016. Curriculum will tie w/Common Core standards. C. Report: Sponsorships — Skip Farley, Leo Floros, Christy Watychowicz Picket Fence is sponsoring all yard signs: historical and support. Sponsorship working committee will approach 10 top vendors. Letter to businesses will be sent. Resident Tom Munz will help committee. Committee will insert a modified Sponsor sheet in the MP Village spring 2016 Newsletter and perhaps the summer newsletter. Sponsor amounts will be a single amount and not a range of amounts. D. Report: Centennial Budget update — Jean Murphy, Michaele Skowron Co -Chair Murphy reviewed updated budget. Murphy talked to MP Finance Director David Erb about charging sales taxes on promot nai'items. Erb is checking w/state. E. Report: Items to be sold through MP Murphy had samples of lapel pins. Report: Meeting with clubs and organizations — plans and handout/calendar - Sharon Anderson Meeting will be Thursday, Feb 18. 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Village Hall 1St floor meeting room. Website will be presented at meeting. Murphy and Anderson developed a skeleton calendar to present at meeting. Representatives will be asked "What can your group add to the celebration?" Regular events w/centennial theme will be encouraged. "What special events will you consider holding." Church bells. Plantings. Trivia night. Contest for 1 st baby born in 2017. Clubs and organizations are asked to sponsor an event and post it on the website. They will be asked to write up their group's history for posting on website. Histories will contribute to Historical Society's collection. Folder will be distributed that night with handouts. Anderson will send blast to Chamber to send to its members. K. Report: Permanent memorial — Mayor Arlene A. Juracek, Jean Murphy Verbal commitment has been secured from all four founding families to contribute to memorial plaques' costs. Plaques will be dedicate¢;and the time capsule burial will take place at Octoberfest, 2017. The 75th anniversary time capsule will be opened at the Block Party in 2016. Skip Farley will read i mayoral letter from the 751h time capsule. L. Watychowicz asked about:a Centennial quarter page in Village Newsletter. Commission should start thinking„about what sort of articles, pictures, events would be published. Hoefert will ask Special Events if Centennial can be at Christkindlmarkt Estimated dates for publication of Village Newsletter. Spring issue is Feb 4, 2016. Summer issue is May 5, 2016 Fall issue is Aug 5, 2016. Winter issue is Nov. 2016 Rice suggested an original MP Fire Truck for use or rental perhaps at Randhurst.
